I've been a bit lax in posting this week, which I apologize for, but I'm going to be sharing a few things with you all today.
First, I feel inspired. I love creating art, I love running interactive blogs and sites, all of it, but do you know what I love the most? I love the joy it brings people. Your responses, your happiness and teary virtual smiles when you see your characters brought to life, your eagerness to see more is what keeps me working at this. Thank you, all of you, from the bottom of my heart, for your support, your enthusiasm, and your love of art.
In that vein, every year I create a gift for friends and followers, a painting for the winter/Yule/Christmas season. I've been floundering a bit, trying to come up with an idea that resonated, but kept coming up short until this week's Sketch Day. I had a prompt from
wyld_dandelyon, who requested a female faerie bringing midwinter blessings, and I sketched this:

It occured to me that this would be the perfect Christmas gift for all of you. So I'm going to be creating a digital painting from it that will be available to the public to download. This won't be a crowdfunded piece, though I'm always open for tips from those who are able and want to support the art. Of course, there are many other ways to support Silverflame Art that are not financial-- helping to spread the word, sharing images with linkback, participation and commenting-- all of these things are immensely helpful and encouraging.
So, today and next week, I'm going to be working on this project, and will be posting progress shots along the way. And I'll be putting together a compilation post of this week's work later today.
